Product details

Duraco underground rainwater harvesting tank 4700L manufactured in Mauritius. The only Duraco rainwater model approved and designed for underground installation — all other rainwater models must not be installed underground. Made from 100% virgin food-grade polyethylene, UV stabilised. Zero above-ground footprint. Equipped with ribs for easy handling during installation.

Installation Process:

Step 1 — Establish Rainwater Harvesting Capacity: Determine your roof area. Determine average rainfall per week from the Mauritius Bureau of Meteorology. Calculate tank capacity by multiplying roof area by average rainfall. Example: a roof of 100m² with 25mm average rainfall yields 2,500L — required tank capacity is 2,500L.

Step 2 — Select the appropriate model:
– Column Type: 350L to 500L
– Integrated Filter Type (Patented): 2500L to 9000L
– Slim Rainwater Tank: 1200L
– Underground Rainwater Tank: 4700L

Step 3 — Accessories required: Water pump and level indicator (sold separately).

Step 4 — Site Preparation: Place the tank on a solid levelled concrete base. Clear roof guttering of leaves and debris — adjust guttering if needed to direct water to the tank location. Design tank overflows to prevent stormwater ponding under the concrete base or flooding foundations.

Step 5 — Distribution: The system diverts the first 60 litres of each rainfall event to ensure a cleaner supply. Select a pump and filtration system to distribute water inside or outside the home. Connect to washing machine, toilets, or outside gardening tap.

Installation Rules: Tanks must NOT be installed on rocky/uneven surfaces or on blocks and metal frames. Always place on a flat, smooth concrete surface. Outlet must be well supported. Note: these tanks are not designed for underground installation — except the Underground Rainwater Tank 4700L.

Warranty — 3 Years (underground model):
The underground rainwater tank 4700L carries a 3-year warranty. Same exclusions apply as above-ground models.
