Product details
Duraco Manhole V8119 manufactured in Mauritius from High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE). EN13598/2 — Manhole (man-entry, traffic areas, deep underground)
A manhole or inspection chamber is a vertical access chamber from ground surface to the sewer network or other underground utilities, positioned at junctions to allow cleaning, inspection, connections and repairs. Once installed, these units allow effective rodding, cleaning and inspection without compromising operator safety. Extremely durable and resistant to attack by sulphates in the soil.
Key Features:
– Tight: one-piece moulded design with rubber joining device provides complete tightness up to 1,250mm depth for inspection chambers and 2,000mm for manholes
– Hydraulic profile: integrated slope in base in accordance with EN13598/1 and EN13598/2, matching the hydraulic profile of sewerage systems
– Universal joining: connects PVC pipes from 110mm diameter; angular bypass pipes connectable with rubber joints
– Lightweight: can be installed by hand without lifting gear
– Resistant: horizontal and vertical strengthening ribs provide stability and strength against static and dynamic loads
– Rotproof: High-Density Polyethylene construction — not affected by hydrogen sulphide (H2S) — no specific maintenance required
Installation:
Manholes must be installed in accordance with WMA Best Practice Paper. Major steps: (1) Excavation, (2) Setting the IC, (3) Positioning the pipes, (4) Backfilling. For full technical details and guidance contact Duraco.
Precautions:
– Residents must not tamper with the manhole
– No constructions or extensions within 1 metre of any manhole
– No loading of any type allowed on manhole
Not recommended in the following conditions:
– Where numerous 90° elbows are required within the household property connection pipework
– High water table — minimum distance between bottom of manhole and water table must be 1.2 metres
– Marshy lands
– Old sites of cesspits and leaching fields where standard compaction cannot be ensured
Note: When installed in traffic roads, manholes must be equipped with a reinforced concrete ring resting on firm ground around the manhole, and a GRP or ductile iron manhole cover with load rating D400 fixed on the concrete ring.
