Duraco underground water storage tank 4700L manufactured in Mauritius. Food-grade polyethylene construction suitable for drinking water storage. Equipped with ribs for easy handling during installation. Designed exclusively for below-ground installation.

Installation Process:

Site Selection: Ensure the tank is fixed on stable soil. In areas at risk of flooding, waterlogging, or high ground water table, protect the tank from external pressure which can cause severe damage.

Step 1 — Trench Digging: Dig 30cm additional clearance around the tank on all sides. Depth = vessel height + 15cm sand bed. Adjust slope to soil conditions.

Step 2 — Compaction: Compact 15cm of stone-free rocksand by hand as the bedding base.

Step 3 — Tank Placement: Lower the tank into the pit and align on the rocksand bed using a spirit level. Position the house service connections (inlet, outlet, overflow) and realign with spirit level.

Step 4 — Filling and Backfilling: Fill the tank with water to 30cm level. Fill the pit with rocksand to 30cm and compact by hand. Repeat this process simultaneously — always keep the water level inside the tank equal to the rocksand level outside — until the pit is fully covered. This equalises pressure and prevents distortion.

Note: If more than 300mm of soil is required above the tank top, protect with a heavy-duty concrete slab resting on firm soil around the tank. The slab must NOT rest on the tank itself. A riser must be fitted at the manhole to reach ground level.

Note: Do NOT install under a driveway or in the path of heavy vehicles without a reinforced concrete slab on firm ground around the tank. This will void the warranty.

Plumbing: Must be installed by a qualified plumber in accordance with regulations.
